Sheila Hoffert, District 24 Governor 2006 - 07 "Share the Light" - Sheila's personal philosphy on Toastmasters is that it is the best place to share skills and knowledge. Just as you tip a lighted candle towards another candle wick to light it, so do Toastmasters share. By sharing you do not loose any light but in fact, you "light the way" for others. Sheila Hoffert calls Bellevue home. Her 1977 Christmas present was to arrive in Omaha with her husband Bob when he was transferred to Offutt AFB. Unfortunately cancer claimed Bob's life in 1998. The rest of Sheila's family still live in England, her mum, sister Irene and husband John and their three children, Vicky, Sarah, and Peter, who she visits regularly. She works for Woodmen of The World Life Insurance Society. She currently works in the IT Division as a Business Analyst and is the lead for the company's document imaging system. Sheila holds the insurance designations FLMI, ACS, AIAA, and ALHC. Sheila graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Bellevue University. She has many hours of postgraduate studies in geography at UNO. She switched majors and schools, returning to Bellevue University and is now working toward a Masters Degree in Communications. If classes fall into place commencement will be June 2007. As you can see Sheila has a busy lifestyle, she loves to play golf and is on one of the company leagues, is an avid walker, and coordinates Woodmen's participation in the Susan Komen Race each fall. She is also president of the local Cornhusker Chapter of AIIM, (an enterprise content management group) earning a distinguished service award in 2004. Sheila belongs to FEDS (5140) a community club that meets at the W Dale Clark library at lunch on Thursdays. She is a past president of the club. Has won division governor of the year award twice. When Sheila is not busy she relaxes with stamp collecting (philately), auctions, and traveling. Favorite quote, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself" Franklin D. Roosevelt. |
